A New Jersey family refused to move into its multi-million dollar home after family members began receiving threatening letters from a stalker known as “The Watcher.”

Maria and Derek Broaddus got the first letter last month just days after closing on their $1.3 million home in Westfield, reports Fox News.

“Why are you here? I will found out,” the letter reads. “My grandfather watched the house in the 1920s and my father watched in the 1960s. It is now my time.”

In the letter, The Watcher also requested that the house be filled with “young blood,” reported the Daily Mail.

Multiple letters have suggested the stalker has been watching the family, though specific details have not been released. The letters mention the Broaddus children multiple times.

“Once I know their names I will call to them and draw them to me. I asked the (previous owners) to bring me young blood,” one letter reads. “And now I watch and wait for the day when they (sic) young blood will be mine again.”

In other letters, the stalker asked if the children had found anything in the walls. The writer also claimed to know the names of each family member. The writer added that he will know which room the “young bloods” are in once they move in and that knowing will help him “plan better.”

The Broaddus family is now suing the previous owners of the home. They claim that John and Andrea Woods knew about The Watcher, but did not disclose the information before selling the house. In court filings, they claim the Woods family even received a letter from The Watcher just before the sale of the house closed.

Local authorities and the town mayor have since become involved in investigating the letters. According to Westfield Mayor Andrew Skibitsky, police left “no stone unturned” during an exhaustive investigation.

To date, no charges have been filled.
