New Eyewitness Testimony Maintains That Michael Brown Had His Hands Up When He Was Killed (Video)

Two more witnesses are speaking out about the shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Brown at the hands of Ferguson, Missouri, police officer Darren Wilson. According to their accounts, Brown had his hands in the air before he was shot six times.

The two men, who spoke candidly to CNN, were working as construction contractors right near the scene on the day that Brown was killed. Cell phone video was provided and shows the men’s reactions following the teen’s death.

“He had his fu**ing hands up,” says one of the men in the clip.

The same man spoke with CNN about hearing one gunshot followed by another after a brief delay.

“The cop didn't say get on the ground. He just kept shooting,” claimed the witness, who added that Brown’s “brains came out of his head,” and that he was shot dead while his back was turned and his hands were up.

The video was recorded at the scene just a few minutes after Brown died, and in it, the unidentified witness reenacts to what happened, putting his arms up in the air just as he claims Brown was doing.

“You have practically in real time someone discussing what they saw, and that's just good evidence,” said CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin of the video’s importance.

“They're saying that he was running from the police officer and that his hands were up," said former prosecutor Sunny Hostin to CNN. "I don't know what other witness testimony at this point or account we have to hear. The bottom line is having your hands up is the universal sign for surrender.”

Still, others are saying they take the latest witness testimony with a grain of salt.

"I'm not saying disregard them,” said Neil Bruntrager, counsel for the St. Louis Police Officers Association. “I'm saying that we will judge their credibility by all of the evidence, not by one statement, and certainly not by a 15-second video clip.”

The Michael Brown case is one of the most talked about issues affecting the nation right now, and protests are still happening all over.
