NBA star Mike Conley knows how to take a joke.

Ever since his wife, Mary, gave birth to their biracial son, Myles, in 2016, there have been jokes on the internet about Myles being "too white," notes the Daily Mail.

Enter the Turf Talk Boys, who describe themselves as "just a couple of degenerates blogging about sports and life" in their Twitter bio.

On July 18, they tweeted a photo of the happy Conley trio, accompanied by the caption: "Mr Nice Guy Mike Conley at it again. He stayed with his wife after she cheated on him and had another man's baby."

Mike responded wittily on July 20, with a custom meme featuring talk show host Maury Povich:

As fans of daytime tabloid TV are aware, revealing paternity results is a staple of the "Maury" show. And Mike's meme was a big hit, being retweeted more than 1,500 times and liked almost 4,000 times.

Multiracial families like the Conleys "are at the cutting edge of social and demographic change in the U.S. -- young, proud, tolerant and growing at a rate three times as fast as the population as a whole," noted the Pew Research Center following a 2015 survey.

The demographic shift is summarized on their site:

The Census Bureau first started allowing people to choose more than one racial category to describe themselves in 2000. Since then, the nation’s multiracial population has grown substantially. Between 2000 and 2010, the number of white and black biracial Americans more than doubled,  while the population of adults with a white and Asian background increased by 87%. And during that decade, the nation elected as president Barack Obama -- the son of a black father from Kenya and a white mother from Kansas.

The share of multiracial babies has risen from 1% in 1970 to 10% in 2013. And with interracial marriages also on the rise, demographers expect this rapid growth to continue, if not quicken, in the decades to come.

The Pew survey found that 60 percent of multiracial couples are proud of having mixed-race heritage, and 59 percent feel their racial background has made them more accepting of other cultures.

However, the survey also revealed that 55 percent of multiracial adults reported being subjected to racial slurs and jokes.

As for Mike, his good humor is enhanced by the $153 million contract he signed in 2016 with the Memphis Grizzlies, which will keep him with the team that originally drafted him for at least five more years.
