A Henry County, Georgia, woman was arrested and charged with the murder of her 2-year-old foster child.
Jennifer Rosenbaum, 27, was charged with murder, aggravated assault, two counts of first-degree cruelty to children and one count of second-degree cruelty in the Nov. 17 death of 2-year-old Laila Marie Daniel, the Atlanta Journal Constitution reported. She was arrested on Dec. 4.
Daniel was in the care of Rosenbaum and her husband, Joseph Rosenbaum, at the time of her death. Rosenbaum, a National Guard veteran and county commission candidate, was taking care of the toddler and her 4-year-old sister.

On Nov. 17, a call was placed to Henry County police in reference to an infant choking. Police arrived at the home eight minutes later to find the child covered bruises and several new and old injuries, according to the Henry Herald.
Daniel's older sister was discovered to have similar injuries and bruises.
Joseph, 26, was also arrested but charged only with two counts of first-degree child cruelty. An investigation is ongoing.

Following her arrest, a Facebook page for Rosenbaum that promoted her candidacy for Henry County commission was removed.
