An international search is on right now for Joran van der Sloot, who was a suspect in the 2005 disappearance of Alabama teen Natalee Holloway in Aruba. Police in Peru have named him as the prime suspect in the murder of another young woman.
The body of 21-year-old Tatiana Flores Stephany Ramirez was found dead in a hotel in Lima Wednesday morning, stabbed multiple times. She disappeared on Friday.
The 22-year-old van der Sloot is believed to have been the last person to see Flores alive.
The girl’s father, prominent local businessman and race car driver Ricardo Flores, told a Peruvian television station that van der Sloot was spotted leaving a casino with his daughter Friday and that there is surveillance camera footage of the two of them together. Police are working with the Dutch Embassy to confirm if it is indeed van der Sloot on the tape.
Van der Sloot is currently on the run, with reports suggesting that he may have escaped to Chile or Argentina. Interpol is trying to track him down.
Van der Sloot was arrested twice and questioned about the disappearance of Holloway while she was on vacation in Aruba, but he was never charged. Her body has still not been found, and she is presumed dead.
