Drivers in Fairfax County, Virginia, were stunned when a naked man jumped onto a moving truck in freezing weather.
Jose Gonzalez Flores, 32, was reported to have stripped naked and hopped onto the truck after being involved in a three-car crash, according to WRC. Police said Flores assaulted another driver and ran into traffic on Route 28 near the Washington Dulles International Airport. The temperature was in the 20s with strong winds.
Flores is reported to have tried to smash the windows of cars and to have stabbed the roof of the truck he jumped onto with a knife.
"Get away from me!" shouted Mahnaz Safi, a witness who had been recording Flores' rampage. "Oh my God! Oh my God!"
"The guy was actually stopping the cars," said Tariq Hussein, who saw what happened after a pickup truck collided into his dump truck. "He was laying down. He started swinging, laying down naked and all that stuff, so people stopped. They don't want to run him down."
"They just stopped, and whoever stopped, he goes to them and tried to smash their window," added Hussein. "Then, he jumped onto this guy's pickup truck flatbed and he just tried [to stab it] with a knife."
"He had a tire in his hand and he had something that had blades," recalled Safi. "He kept cutting himself."
Police said Flores also broke the truck's window before jumping off the truck and running into the woods.
"He took a tire, a used tire, around his neck, and ran into the woods," said Hussein.
Police found Flores in a drainage ditch on the airport's property. He was arrested and taken to a hospital with injuries that were reported to be non-life-threatening.
No one besides Flores was injured during the rampage, which, along with the original crash, blocked traffic for almost an hour. Police said it wasn't clear if Flores had been under the influence of drugs or alcohol during the incident.
Flores was charged with destruction of property, assault and battery, marijuana possession, disorderly conduct, throwing an object at a moving vehicle, indecent exposure, and felony hit-and-run.
In June, a U.K. driver was filmed attacking another motorist in a fit of road rage, according to the Birmingham Mail.
The attacker, who was driving a BMW, was reportedly enraged after he had tried to force his way into a busy lane but was blocked by another driver in a Clio. The video shows the BMW driver getting out of his car and punching the victim multiple times.
A Midland Road Safety Partnership said that the attack seen in the video was "one of the worst examples of road rage" that the organization had seen.
"I had no idea why the BMW driver was so angry, and I watched the footage back to see if the driver in the Clio had done something to annoy him, but saw nothing wrong," said the motorist who filmed the incident, who was identified only as Parmar.
"I offered [the Clio driver] my dash-cam footage and have since given it to him," added Parmar. "Hopefully the BMW driver will get prosecuted for his crazy actions."
