Two Tennessee women were arrested after police say one woman's 13-month-old daughter was left in a hot car while she auditioned at a downtown Nashville strip club.
Kelsey McMurtry, 24, auditioned at Deja Vu Showgirls while her daughter was in a sweltering car with the windows rolled up. McMurtry's friend, 19-year-old Summer Taylor, was supposed to have been supervising the child. Instead, she was inside the strip club watching her friend's audition, an arrest warrant notes, according to the Daily Mail.
The temperature inside the car was likely more than 100 degrees and the child was wearing a coat, according to the warrant.
Witnesses called police after spotting the child in the car. They estimate the baby was inside for 30 minutes, according to WKRN.
The Department of Children's Services was called to the scene and the child was brought to a nearby hospital for treatment.
McMurtry and Taylor were arrested on charges of child neglect. McMurtry has also been charged criminal impersonation for lying to police about her identity.
Taylor is being held on $10,000 bond, while McMurtry is being held on bond of $40,000. Both women are expected to appear in court on April 18.
