More Than 20 Dogs Die In Vegas House Fire, 70 Others Rescued

More than 20 dogs died and 70 others were rescued by North Las Vegas firefighters in a house fire Sunday.

The blaze broke out around 8 p.m., North Las Vegas Fire Captain Cedric Williams told KLAS-TV.

Fire crews from Las Vegas and North Las Vegas treated some animals at the scene and others were transported to area pet hospitals.

Neighbors told the news station they had no idea so many animals were inside the home.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Earlier this month a fire at a private breeders' home in England killed 20 Staffordshire bull terriers in East Yorkshire. The dogs were locked in cages at the blaze tore through the wood-structure home while the owners were out, The Guardian reported.
