Elizabeth Yanez, 43, was reportedly stabbed to death in front of her adult children over a parking space dispute last Friday night at the Santa Fe Springs Swap in California.
Authorities recently announced that Reggie Cervantes and Brenda Rangel have been charged with Yanez's death and are being held on a $1 million bail, noted The Los Angeles Times.
When officers from the Whittier Police Department answered a call about a fight in the parking lot, they found Yanez on the ground with multiple stab wounds.
Yanez was rushed to a hospital in Irvine, California, but died.
“It escalated,” Yanez's son Daniel Crable told KTLA (video below). “It went from one to 10 in a matter of seconds. The next thing you know this man is out of his car.”
“It doesn’t make sense to me,” added Yanez's daughter, Renee Crable. “For a parking space, it was just uncalled for. I mean I just don’t understand how... I’m supposed to go on with my life now.”
Police allegedly found Cervantes and Rangel's fingerprints on Yanez's car and tracked them to South Los Angeles.
