Mom Gives Shocking Excuse After She Let Man Rape Her Daughter

A Pennsylvania woman, accused of enticing her husband to have sex with her teenage daughter, has been sentenced to 15 to 30 years in prison.

WCAU News reports 33-year-old Misty Machinshok, of Wilkes-Barre, pleaded guilty to rape, aggravated assault, conspiracy, child endangerment and other charges. She was sentenced earlier this month.

Assistant District Attorney Nancy Violi alleged that Machinshok was unable to have another child so she planned to have her husband impregnate her 15-year-old daughter and then raise the child as her own. Prosecutors said the couple planned to tell others the teenager had gotten pregnant at a party.

According to The Scranton Times-Tribune, Machinshok met her husband, 29-year-old Gary Machinshok, through a dating website called

Violi called the crime “particularly heinous,” according to The Times-Tribune, and told the judge that Misty Machinshok even “coached” the pair on what sexual positions would be the best for getting pregnant.

The Daily Mail reports the mother held her daughter’s hand during the first few sexual encounters.

“She put her own self-interests ahead of (the child),” Violi was quoted as saying in The Times-Tribune.

Misty Machinshok’s attorney, Mary Deady, told Judge David Lupas that her client had made “a lot of bad decisions,” but asked the judge to consider that she pleaded guilty in order to spare her children the pain of having to testify in a trial.

“The acts perpetrated on this victim are extremely heinous in nature,” Lupas said before handing down the sentence. “It’s hard to envision.”

In addition to her prison sentence Lupas also ordered that Misty Machinshok undergo sex offender treatment. She will also be ordered to register as a sex offender for the rest of her life.

Gary Machinshok is also charged with molesting the girl’s 12-year-old sister. In August he pleaded no contest to numerous charges including rape, aggravated sexual assault, statutory rape and indecent assault of a person under age 13. He is scheduled to be sentenced later this month.

Both of Misty Machinshok’s daughters are now in foster care.
