Mom Arrested For Doing Something Awful To 5-Year-Old, 7-Year-Old Daughters

Texas woman Vanessa Patricia Ganung, 31, was sentenced to 40 years in prison on Feb. 3 for making child pornography with her daughters, who were aged five and seven at the time.

The Houston mother pleaded guilty and was charged with first degree felony offense of Sexual Performance by a Child in the 9th district court, reports KHOU.

Ganung was arrested in 2013 following an investigation by the Montgomery County Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, the district attorney’s office stated.

The investigation revealed that she had been creating child pornography using her biological daughters in her Willis, Texas home.

Investigator Jason Grindstaff with the Montgomery County Precinct 2 Constable’s Office found that Ganung not only took photos and videos of her daughters exposing their genitals and performing sexual acts for the camera, she also sent the illicit images to an adult male, according to KHOU.

The District Attorney said that had she not accepted the plea deal, the mom would have been facing life in prison.

"Ganung was the vehicle by which these girls arrived on this earth, but she is no mother. There is nothing we value more in Montgomery County than our children, and I'm happy to say that both girls, now removed from that horrible situation, are doing great," said chief prosecutor Mary Nan Huffman.

Once her sentence ends in 2056, Ganung will have to register as a sex offender for the rest of her life, according to Fox 26.

The investigation was a joint effort between the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, Children's Safe Harbor, and the Conroe Police Department.
