A 40-year-old mother of three from Seattle, Washington, has been missing since April 8 after she went on a date with a man she met online.
Ingrid Lyne attended the home opening game for the Seattle Mariners, according to KIRO.
But friends and neighbors realized something had happened when she did not turn up the following morning to collect her children.
Police visited Lyne’s home in Renton late April 9 to look for clues.
“It’s a pretty quiet neighborhood and a pretty quiet cul-de-sac so it was a little weird to see all the police activity,” neighbor Dawn Early told KCPQ.
Lyne’s car, a gray Toyota, was also missing.
Neighbors say they have not been able to contact the man who took her on the date.
“I don’t know; it’s not good,” Edward Franceschina, another neighbor, added. “The purse, the telephone and everything was in the house.”
Franceschina said he last saw Lyne April 8 in the afternoon as she was collecting her mail.
Friends added that this is extremely out of character for Lyne, who is a nurse at Seattle’s Swedish Medical Center.
“It’s not good, and the longer it goes on the more you think she’s not coming back,” Franceschina added.
Police were due to hold a news conference later April 11 to update the situation.
Renton Police said the investigation is ongoing, and colleagues from Seattle are also involved.
Lyne’s children are currently staying with a family friend.
