Missouri mother Michelle Conway McClain wrote a heart-warming letter to her bisexual son Zach after he came out on Facebook, and it has since gone viral.
In the note, McClain said she was surprised, but will continue to love her son unconditionally.
“I love you with my actions, not just my words,” she wrote. “I’ll fight for you always.”
She continued to call him the bravest person she’d ever known, and promised him that his sexual orientation does not define him.
“You are still the boy who forever won my heart,” she wrote.
Rounding out her note, she said the only things that concerned her were the piles of empty soda cups and bottles in Zach’s room, and that he should throw them away before ants found their way inside.
The letter was eventually posted to Facebook’s Have a Gay Day page, where it became popular.
McClain later commented on the reposting of her letter, confirming its authenticity and how she had left the note on Zach’s door before going to work one morning.
“I meant every word, “ she wrote. “I’m so proud of him!”
McClain also noted how overwhelmed she felt with so much support from strangers online.
