A cat in the Crimea Peninsula miraculously escaped death after being stabbed in the head with a kitchen knife.
Lyudmila Alexeeva was shocked when she found her favorite stray cat, Mr. Green, hiding under a bush with a 6-inch blade sticking out of his skull. He was immediately taken to a vet in the city of Sevastopol.
According to the veterinarian, the knife had penetrated 2 inches into the animal’s head. Luckily, the knife missed the cat’s brain and he is expected to make a full recovery following emergency surgery, according to the New York Post.
“We think the cat had been stabbed on Friday 13, and had therefore been injured for some time before he was found,” Matalia Morozova, president of a local charity for homeless animals, said. “The knife was wedged in the skull and the cat had probably run off before its attacker could remove the blade.”
Vets now believe that Mr. Green will make a full recovery and haven’t noticed any changes in his behavior despite the head injury, the Daily Mail reports. He will remain under veterinarian watch until it’s verified that infection won’t set into his injury.
According to Morozova, police have been informed of the incident.
