A Michigan gas station clerk who was afraid for his safety during an armed robbery managed to pull out his handgun and fire 10 rounds at the suspect.
Footage of the masked suspect, who was carrying a firearm, shows him entering a Shell gas station Monday morning in Norton Shores, Michigan.
The robber demanded money from the cash register and ordered the 24-year-old clerk to the back room to get cigarettes.
That’s when the clerk retrieved his own gun, the Norton Shores Police Department’s news release said.
Fearing for his life, the clerk began shooting at the suspect, who ran out of the store and did not fire back. It is unclear if the robber was shot as he jumped into a black or dark blue, four-door sedan parked outside and took off with the money.
The suspect was described as a black male, approximately 6 feet tall, with a thin but muscular build. There was another suspect driving the getaway vehicle, but no description was available.
