A man from Sherbrooke, Quebec has been arrested for his 17th DUI after he bought a case of beers Sunday morning.
Maurice Larrivee went to a grocery store at 8:45 am and purchased a case of two dozen beers.
The cashier noticed he was drunk, and told Larrivee, 69, that he should not drive home. Fellow employees also noticed his drunken state, and tried to help the cashier convince him not to drive.
Larrivee ignored their concerns and left.
Store employees then called the police. Police arrested him in the store parking lot.
Larrivee had not been arrested for a DUI since 2005, when he lost his license for five years.
