The heads of the conservative law firm the Liberty Counsel called transgender people the weakest link in the LGBTQ movement and said that the removal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell was a just a green light for soldiers to rape their colleagues.
In their Wednesday “Faith and Freedom” video series, Mat Staver and Matt Barber’s discussed Bradley Manning’s “clownish” transformation into Chelsea Manning.
In the video titled “Wiki Traitor Turns Transsexual,” Barber said the “transgender traitor” looked “clownish” in pictures wearing a wig and lipstick. He called transgender people the “laughing stock” of the LGBTQ community.
“The team is only as strong as its weakest link,” Barber said,” and the weaklest link in that big, long LGBTQAAALMNOP ... what I call the ‘alphabet soup of the absurd.’ The 'T' for transgender is the weakest link because it is so far removed and detached from reality.”
Barber said the notion that “a man is somehow trapped in a woman’s body or a woman in a man’s body” is “clownish.”
He claimed Manning “parading around in a wig and lipstick saying call me ‘Chelsea’ – it’s just silliness abounds.”
Staver said that if being transgender is an excuse for committing treason then “whenever an airline wants to charge someone for two seats because they take up more than one seat … just simply say ‘I’m a skinny man trapped in an obese man’s body.’”
“Imagine if [Manning] were still in the military,” Staver said. “If he was still in the military and he is your commanding officer, and now he says, ‘Hey, you know what, I’ve decided I want to be a woman now.’ So now your commanding officer goes through this sex change. I mean, how bizarre is that?”
Staver and Barber also agreed that the increase in sexual assaults in the military is due to the repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.
“The worst thing about it is the morale and the lack of security that this ultimately brings to the military,” said Staver, who argued that many people outraged by sexual assault in the military don’t realize “a lot of it came from men on men, more so than male on female.”
“Unit cohesion and troop morale has been severely disturbed now with the lifting of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, and there are men being raped by homosexual men in the armed forces,” Barber added.
The Liberty Counsel plans to take legal action against New Jersey after the state passed a ban on “conversion” therapy for gay minors. The group unsuccessfully fought a similar ban in California.
