A Maryland man was arrested earlier this week for allegedly killing his girlfriend's 1-year-old son.
Osmay Sesay, 28, of Riverdale, Maryland, was arrested Wednesday and charged with first-degree murder and child abuse, authorities say.
The victim has been identified as Ahmed Jalloh.
Authorities responded to an unresponsive child report in Riverdale around 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 1. The boy was pronounced dead at the hospital.
In a news release, the Prince George's County Police Department said that the preliminary investigation revealed that Sesay's girlfriend left her child in his care when she went to work.
An autopsy revealed the cause of death to be multiple blunt force injuries. The death has been ruled as a homicide.
Sesay reportedly told authorities that he didn't see Jalloh for 20-25 minutes before discovering him unresponsive in a bedroom. He is being held without bond.
