The man who allegedly shot and killed a Florida police officer early Saturday morning has been identified.
According to the New York Daily News, the Tarpon Springs, Fla., police department has officially charged 23-year-old Marco Antonio Parilla Jr. with first degree murder.
Parilla allegedly gunned down officer Charles Kondek while the 17-year veteran was responding to an unspecified call at 3:00 a.m. He then reportedly fled the scene, only to be apprehended a short time later.
Kondek, 45, was a father of five and a former New York Police Department officer. His death came less than a day after two NYPD officers were murdered during an ambush by a Brooklyn gunman.
