A Georgia man has been charged with murder after he killed a man with one punch at a Braselton bar.
According to KTTV, surveillance video (below) of the punch has surfaced online and was used as evidence during an investigation into the attack.
Clint Ali, 34, was reportedly at Jack's Bar and Grill in Braselton, Georgia, browsing music at the jukebox when suddenly, another man approached him, unprovoked, and sucker-punched him in the face.
"He has no clue, man I'm about to get punched I'm about to lose my life," Braselton Assistant Police Chief Lou Solis told KTTV.
Solis added, "It's murder, I mean the guy ... doesn't even know what's about to hit him."
According to Barrow News-Journal, David Allen Digiacomo, 40, of Flowery Branch, has been arrested in connection with the incident. He has been charged with murder, aggravated assault, and obstruction. Digiacomo is currently being held in the Barrow County Jail.
Solis said that Digiacomo told people in the bar that night that Ali had threatened his friend, though Solis denies the claim.
"There was no report was ever made that Mr. Ali made a threat," Solis said.
Ali's family owned a gas station next door to Jack's Bar and Grill and they say Ali never made enemies with anybody.
"Everyone that came in here knew Clint, knew his posture, he gave out an aura, a vibe of positivity," Catherine Wells told KTTV.
A customer at the bar who is a registered nurse performed CPR on Ali before paramedics arrived. Ali was rushed to the hospital, where he later died.
Solis says the case has been determined to be an unprovoked homicide, caused by the punch and subsequent fall that Ali suffered.
"As far as the family, the hospital staff did all they could [which] hopefully gives them some kind of small comfort knowing they tried to save [their] son," Solis told KTTV.
