A man who was reportedly trimming trees at a car dealership business in Chandler, Arizona, died when he got stuck in a wood chipper, according to police.
Sgt. Seth Tyler, a Chandler police spokesman, said they received a call on Thursday morning and arrived at the dealership to find that the man had fallen partially into the wood chipper and suffered a fatal wound after he had been standing on top of it, reports The Arizona Republic. He reportedly worked for Phoenix Trim-A-Tree LLC, but the company has declined comment.
Another worker was reportedly present at the time of the accident, but it’s unclear whether he witnessed the incident.
Police are refraining from releasing the victim’s name until his family is notified of his death, according to Reuters. Tyler says he expects the state Occupational Safety and Health Administration to investigate the accident.
