An Arkansas man has been arrested after he was caught on camera having sex with a family's pet donkeys.
Emert and Joyce Whitaker, the donkey's owners, said that trespassers had been bothering their donkeys for three years, Fox News reports. The owners posted "No Trespassing" and "Do Not Feed Animals" signs around their Siloam Springs property, but the trespassing reportedly continued.
The owners then installed a game camera to monitor the area where the female donkeys lived.
The camera caught images of 49-year-old Everett Lee Compton trespassing onto the Whitakers' property on May 27 and June 4 -- he was then seen placing a bag over one of the donkeys' heads and placing his pelvis behind the donkey's back side.
On July 5 and 6, Compton was photographed again, feeding the donkeys from what looked like bread bags, then putting his pelvis behind the animals again.
When an officer went to the Whitakers' property, Compton is reported to have hid in the bushes. After he was discovered, Compton said he was just feeding the donkeys carrots and denied that he had been having sex with them.
After he was told there was a camera that caught him in the act, Compton reportedly said he smokes a large amount of marijuana, and that it made him do "sick things." He promised to get help if the officer didn't charge him.
Compton was arrested and charged with misdemeanor counts of bestiality, cruelty to animals, and criminal trespassing.
As of Aug. 1, Compton was being held at the Benton County Jail on a $5,000 bond, according to KFSM. His court hearing is set for Sept. 11.
In August 2016, a man was arrested for having intercourse with "a white in color female goat," according to The Smoking Gun.
Freddie Wadsworth, 65, of Douglasville, Georgia, was the owner of the goat that he allegedly had sex with. The Paulding County Sheriff's Office said two neighbors who live across the street from Wadsworth's property witnessed the man having sex with the goat.
The neighbors then called 911 to report that a "male was having intercourse with a goat," according to Sergeant Ashley Henson. The act was allegedly carried out in broad daylight. "He has a lot of goats," Henson added.
The situation had at first been logged as indecent exposure, since there is no existing police code for a man having sex with a goat in Georgia.
Wadsworth was ultimately charged with felony bestiality, which can carry a jail sentence of one to five years. He was booked into the county jail on a $1,300 bond, which he paid.
