A 30-year-old Florida man has been arrested for with raping a teenage prostitute.

According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office, Travis Burton was charged with sexual battery, kidnapping, burglary, aggravated child abuse, and soliciting for prostitution, the Daily Mail reports.

Burton allegedly tied up the 16-year-old girl, cut off her underwear, and raped her multiple times.

On Dec. 2, she was sent by her pimp to Burton's house, and upon her arrival, he punched her in the face, bound her with tape, cut off her underwear and raped her four times, police say.

According to the affidavit, the teen said Burton then put a knife to her throat and attached a dog leash to her neck. He then put her in his truck and drove to an orange grove, where the truck got stuck.

While the truck was incapacitated in the orange grove, Burton sexually assaulted the victim again, police say.

The girl's pimp, Miguel Ramirez, notified police when she did not return, WFLA reports.

Deputies found the girl still in the truck, and caught Burton, who attempted to flee the scene.

"I'm not convinced at all that we weren't going to have a murder had it not been for our deputies," Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said. "It's just by the grace of God she's not dead right now."

Burton allegedly told deputies that he met the teen online and offered to pay her $300 for sex, but that it "got a little rough" after there was a disagreement over the money.

Burton's criminal history includes 25 previous felonies, 12 previous misdemeanors, and a prison sentence, authorities say.

His previous charges include: burglary, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, battery, vehicle theft, resisting, fleeing to elude, giving false ID to law enforcement, cannabis and meth possessions, violating probation, battery on law enforcement, larceny, aggravated stalking, battery on a person 65 or older, grand theft and possession of a weapon by a felon.

He appeared in court on Dec. 2, but was charged with contempt, after which the judge ordered him to be held for at least 179 days, police say.

Ramirez was arrested and is now also facing charges for contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He told deputies he knows the victim's family. He said she is in foster care and is not allowed to be around her biological mother.
