A peanut butter and jelly sandwich binge turned violent when two brothers clashed over whether it was okay to eat six of the sandwiches.
Jerome Davis was arrested after he allegedly pulled a knife on his brother over a confrontation with him about his sandwich eating, the Des Moines Register reported.
The two brothers live together in Des Moines, Iowa, and are in their 50s.
The unnamed victim told police that his brother "made three peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and ate them in the living room. Within the next hour, the suspect made another three of these peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, bringing his total consumption of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to six. This angered the victim..."
Police report that "both victim and suspect began yelling about the other being lazy and eating again."
Davis then pulled a folding knife on his brother and held it to his face, threatening to cut him, NY Daily News reports.
When police arrived, they took two folding knives from Davis and arrested him on charges of assault domestic abuse with a weapon.
Davis told police he threatened his brother because he would not "shut the (expletive) up and mind his own business," the Des Moines Register reports.
