James Graham is accused of setting Joanie Yount's home on fire in Frankfurt, Kentucky, after she rejected his advances on Facebook.
Graham was indicted by a grand jury this week on charges of arson and burglary.
He reportedly added Yount as a friend on Facebook and began sending her messages.
“He was writing on all my pictures talking about how beautiful I am, you know, let him take me out. I had actually told him to stay off of my Facebook, so he may have gotten offended over that,” Yount told Lex18.com.
According to Frankfurt police, that rejection caused Graham to allegedly break into Yount's home and start a fire on Nov. 28.
Yount and her 3-year-old son were not in the house, but her neighbors noticed the smoke and called authorities.
“[Graham] was walking around bragging about it and saying that he didn't have to pay the price,” added Yount.
Yount didn't have insurance, so she and her child are staying with her family, noted WLKY. She started a GoFundMe page to accept donations from the public.
