Musician Steve Vaus has composed a song and video called 'Come and Take It,' which is a warning and veiled threat to Democrats, who are supposedly coming after everyone's guns (video below).
According to InfoWars.com, the lyrics include: "Members of Congress, you been makin' a lot of noise about takin' our guns away," which is superimposed over pictures of President Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA).
However, those Democrats have not proposed to take anyone's guns away, but rather require universal background checks for future gun purchases (supported by most members of the NRA) and banning new purchases of assault weapons as well as high capacity magazines.
The lyrics also claim that God gave Americans the freedom to own guns: "We want the freedom that God gave us, so you best not cross that line. If you want this gun you gotta to come through us and take it, one shot at a time.”
“Come and take it if you want it. Come and take it if you think you can. Come and take it, but we’ll warn you, you’ll have to pry it from our cold, dead hands.”
The slogan 'Come and Take It,' was apparently a slogan used after the 1835 Battle of Gonzalez, in which Texans defied the Mexican government’s demand to return a cannon that had been given them for self-defense.
Vaus says that when he contacted local and national media outlets about airing his pro-gun song/video, he was denied.
“Clear Channel refused to allow me to buy time on all of their D.C. area stations,” Vaus told Infowars.com.
“On the TV side, the video version has been refused by the two major cable TV carriers in D.C., Comcast and ViaMedia. Finally I have attempted to buy time on MSNBC nationally and they have been unresponsive.”
Vaus has performed with the Billy Graham Crusades, the Grand Ole Opry and at the White House.
Vaus' song and video make no mention of the Sandy Hook School shooting or any other mass shootings that have ignited a national call for gun control on assault weapons.
