Magician Impales Host's Hand In Failed TV Trick (Video)

A magic trick performed live on a Polish television show went terribly wrong when the magician impaled the hand of the show's host with a large nail (video below).

The incident occurred on Polish morning show "Question for Breakfast," according to the Daily Mail.

The magician, reportedly a semi-finalist on "Poland's Got Talent," lines up four paper bags on a table. One of the bags contains a large nail, held up vertically by a wooden platform.

Host Marzena Rogalska, 46, is instructed by the magician to slam her hand down on one of the bags, which was supposed to be empty.

However, the bag he selected for her actually contained the nail, and Rogalska screams in pain as she pulls her hand away, the nail sticking out of her palm.

It takes a second or two before the magician and his assistant realize what happened, at which point the former pulls the nail from Rogalska's hand, who cries in agony as she falls to the floor.

Rogalska was led off the stage and did not return for the remainder of the show. She was treated for minor injuries at a nearby hospital, and later posted on Facebook that all was well.

"Thank you for your support," she wrote, according to the Daily Mail. "I'm alive. Everything will be fine."

The accident provoked an angry response from people on the web.

"Completely the [magician's] fault!" wrote one person on YouTube. "Real magicians only ever do the trick themselves instead of risking the audience."

Others made light-hearted jokes about it.

"This guy needs to Polish up his act," wrote another user.

According to the show's producers, the trick had been performed off set beforehand without a problem.
