Madonna's estranged brother Anthony Ciccone is homeless in northern Michigan and claims his pop star little sister doesn't care if he lives or dies.
"Madonna doesn't give a s**t if I'm dead or alive," Anthony told MailOnline. "She lives in her own world. I never loved her in the first place, she never loved me. We never loved each other."
Anthony, 56, has been on the streets of Traverse City, Mich., for nearly three years. The oldest of eight siblings, he is two years older than Madonna. He recently spent a month in jail after he was arrested for being intoxicated in a church and swearing in front of children.
He lost his job at the Ciccone family vineyard, where his father and stepmother live, after being found on his back drinking directly from wine vats.
Suffering from alcoholism, Ciccone blames his family for his woes. "No family backup, when the chips fell, no family backup,” he told MailOnline. "I'd rather be working. What would you do under these circumstances when your family has stood against you completely?"
According to the Daily News, neighbor Kathy Mateyer, who works in the vineyard’s wine tasting room, said the family is devastated over Anthony’s alcoholism and until he gets help they cannot ask him back to work.
Anthony admits that, if it were not for local churches opening their doors to the homeless during the winter and providing hot meals, he would probably be dead by now.
Mateyer said the family has reached out to him many times. "Anthony just won't accept help," Mateyer explained. His father allegedly drove the frigid streets Thanksgiving night to bring him leftovers to eat.
She defended the family saying, “The alcohol has taken over his brain.”
She claims Madonna, 54, who has a net worth of $1 billion, helped pay for several of her brother’s stints in rehab.
"Evidently various people have been pestering her about matters of neglect regarding family and such. I think she's probably a little bit p****d off with me or even troubling her. But I've never asked my sister for anything," Ciccone said of Madonna. "She don't owe me nothing."
The pop star’s younger sister Paula and half-brother Mario still work at the vineyard. According to the MailOnline Paula is also a recovery alcoholic and has more sympathy for brother Anthony’s circumstances.
Mateyer claims Athony’s alcoholism is a huge strain on his 83-year-old father Tony. "Joan and Tony Ciccone are the most down to earth people I’ve met, they don’t deserve this."
