Source: OJ Simpson's Prison Nickname Is 'Stinky'

O.J. Simpson's new prison nickname is reportedly "Stinky," reflecting the once-famous NFL star's deteriorating health.

“O.J. is incontinent -- he s***s on himself," explained Vernon Nelson, a fellow inmate at Nevada’s Lovelock Correctional Center, reports Radar Online. "I’ve been with him on several occasions where he had these incidents!”

Sources say it may be a symptom of a larger illness known as chronic traumatic encephalopathy, the Independent Journal reports. It is a brain disease likely stemming from the 69-year-old's younger football-playing days.

“O.J. says his memory is slipping, and he gets painful headaches," said a source. "He has blurry vision, stutters sometimes, and has trouble hearing what people are saying to him. At times he feels confused and has unusual bursts of anger and fits of depression.”

This, among other things, has made Simpson an unpopular inmate, with many reportedly staying away from him because he smells.

Simpson's not getting any love from correctional officers, either.

Nelson recalls an incident when Simpson allegedly pulled the "fame" card to cut in line.

“A guard yelled at him angrily on the bullhorn and told him, ‘Mr. Simpson get your ass back on the other side of the gate with the other inmates, [you're] not getting any special treatment from me!!!'" Nelson said. "O.J. walked back to the other side of the gate, stood next to me, dropped his head and started sobbing uncontrollably!”

Simpson captured international headlines after being accused of murdering his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ronald Goldman, in 1995.

While Simpson was eventually acquitted of the murder in his criminal trial, he was convicted in 2007 for armed robbery and kidnapping for a different incident. He is serving a sentence of nine to 33 years, of which he has served eight years.

The news of his deteriorating health has produced mixed responses on social media.

"Stinky is an upgrade from wife beating, narcissistic, murderer of two innocent people including the mother of his children!" wrote one woman on Conservative Daily's Facebook page.

Others felt it was inappropriate to mock someone who has a medical condition.

"As a CNA I can't help to have pity for him," said another woman. "He made poor decisions and done bad things. But anyone who is spiritual and religious should also have compassion for it is not our place to judge. Also not our place to torment those who are weak or ill."
