Colorado authorities say they have arrested a suspect in a shooting that left two teenagers injured at a middle school in Littleton -- the same town where the Columbine massacre occured.
West Metro Fire officials say the shooting happened at about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Deer Creek Middle School. Officials say the two victims are expected to survive.
It's unclear whether the suspect or the teenage victims were students.
It's also unknown if the shooting happened inside or outside the school. The school was put on lockdown as a precaution.
In 1999, 12 students and one teacher were killed when students Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold brought an arsenal to Columbine High School and opened fire on their fellow classmates. After they the murders, they killed themselves.
The violent day left a deep scar on the Littleton community and many years of investigations over whether the school and parents could have done more to prevent the massacre -- or if the police could have acted more efficiently in their response.
