The remaining dog at the Arizona Humane Society was finally adopted after a local news channel reported that it had been left behind during an adoption drive.

The 4-year-old pit bull known as Madeline was the only dog out of 513 that was not adopted last week. The staff at the humane society were heart broken, describing Madeline as a "complete angel" and one of their favorites.

When Kim and Eli Beckman saw that Madeline was the only dog that had not been adopted, they immediately went down to the humane society to visit her.

"I told my fiance, 'let's go up there and take a shot at trying to adopt her,'" Eli Beckman said. "I mean, how would you feel if you got left out in the cold?"

The Beckmans were surprised to find that no one had tried adopting Madeline, but were happy to take her home themselves.

The humane society will perform another adoption drive in the coming weeks, this time for cats.
