Lamborghini Egoista is One-Seater Concept Car That Looks Like Spaceship

A futuristic concept car was unveiled at Lamborghini's 50th birthday party. Called "Egoista," the car only seats one.

The car was designed by Walter De Silva, who said he was inspired by the look of Apache attack helicopters.

If the car were built, it would be powered by a 600-hp V-10 engine.

"I am very attached to this Italian brand, being an Italian myself. I wanted to pay homage to and think up a vehicle to underline the fact that Lamborghinis have always been made with passion, and with the heart of more than the head," De Silva said.

"This is a car made for one person only, to allow them to have fun and express their personality to the maximum. It is designed purely for hyper-sophisticated people who want only the most extreme and special things in the world. It represents hedonism taken to the extreme, it is a car without compromises, in a word: egoista (or selfish)."

The car has an aeronautical design, with an ejection system and LED warning lights in the place of traditional headlamps.

The cockpit is orange-colored and has a minimum amount of instruments, with most gauges replaced by a heads-up display. A canopy slides forward for the driver to enter and exit.

Exiting the car requires a series of steps, which Lamborghini describes in detail:

"To get out of the vehicle, the driver must remove the steering wheel and rest it on the dashboard, open the dome with an electronic command, stand up in their seat, sit down on a precise point of the left-hand bodywork, then swivel their legs 180 degrees from the inside of the cockpit to the outside of the vehicle."

"At this point they can set their feet down and stand up."

They said this will make the driver feel like Tom Cruise in "Top Gun."

But those wishing to let their selfish side out by buying the car are out of luck, as they do not plan to make the Egoista.
