Actress Kristen Bell took aim at first lady Melania Trump during her opening monologue at the SAG Awards (video below).
During the monologue, Bell referenced the fact that she was not just the first host of the award show but also a female host -- and took the opportunity to mock the first lady's campaign against cyber bullying.
"I never thought I'd grow up to be the first lady, but you know what? I kinda like it," she said. "I think my first initiative as first lady will be cyber-bullying, because I have yet to see any progress made on that problem quite yet."
Bell also spoke of the #MeToo movement and its impact on Hollywood.
"Everyone's story deserves to be told. Especially now. We are living in a watershed moment," she said. "As we ... march forward with active momentum and open ears, let's make sure we are leading the charge with empathy and diligence because fear and anger never win the race."
The speech also found Bell poking fun at herself, starting it by claiming to be a "narcissist" and later referencing one of her most popular films.
"And most importantly, regardless of our differences, I think we can all come together in delight of one thing -- "Frozen 2" is coming out in theaters in 2019," she said.
Many readers criticized Bell for mocking the first lady.
"Kristen Bell is a very overrated actor who shills her trash wherever she can get attention. Her movies are crappy and get generally terrible reviews. Who watches these celebrity back slapping shows anymore anyway?" one Daily Mail reader commented.
"I wish these self absorbed dimwits would just sit down and shut up. As long as they don't speak, you don't know whether they are dumb or not, but as sure as they open their mouths, you know for sure. Nobody has ever been bullied as much as the First Family. It is despicable," another added.
Meanwhile, President Donald Trump has continued to spark controversy for a number of incidents -- including the recent revelation that he had an affair with a porn star soon after marrying Melania Trump, and is said to have paid the woman to keep quiet about it.
Porn star Stormy Daniels commented about the affair during a 2011 interview with In Touch Weekly.
"At the time, I didn’t think that much about it. But now that I have a baby that’s the same age that his was at the time, I’m like, ‘Wow, what a d**k," Daniels said in the interview, which was recently published despite the alleged hush money that was paid after the interview was conducted.
Daniels admitted that she brought Melania Trump up in conversation at one point during the affair.
"I mentioned her. I was like, ‘Yeah, what about your wife?’ He goes, ‘Oh, don’t worry about her.’ Quickly, quickly changed the subject," she said, Newsweek reported.
