Kim Kardashian West said she suffers from body dysmorphia and that her trauma from the 2016 robbery in Paris is far from over.
During the latest episode of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians," Kim accompanied her sister Kourtney Kardashian on a four-day girls' trip to Mexico to celebrate her birthday, Us Weekly reported. The sisters were joined by 16 of their friends, and settled into Joe Francis’ Punta Mita home.
The reality TV star revealed that she was having anxiety about her body after being photographed from an unflattering angle while at the beach.
“You take pictures, and people just body shame you,” Kim lamented. “It’s like literally giving me body dysmorphia.” She added that people think she's very confident but admitted, "I'm so insecure."
But Kim's anxiety didn't stop there. Revealing that she is still not quite over her traumatic October 2016 experience in Paris, Kim said she fears for her safety whenever she travels.
“Are you sure it’s safe here?” she asked Francis through tears.
“Ever since Paris I just go through this worst-case scenario mode in my head. ... It hit me that all of these people in the airport are going to see 17 or 18 girls with our Chanel and Louis Vuitton bags,” Kim said.
But Kim added that Francis made her feel safe.
"He had a really awful situation where he was kidnapped," said Kim. "He calms me down.”
Kim said she is going through changes while on the ride back home. She said she's become “socially awkward,” and that she would rather enjoy the “chill life” of staying at home.
“It’s just that I don’t want it to be said that ‘Kim was here.’ I just don’t want to be in the mix the way that I used to," Kim told her friends. "How desperate I was going to every restaurant ... Wanting to be seen. I’d be like, ‘Oh, Katsuya? I know the paparazzi’s there.’”
The trip proved to be an emotional rollercoaster ride for Kim -- so much so that Kourtney joked she "won't be invited" next time. Despite Kim's anxiety, Kourtney didn't appear to let it get in the way of her good time in Mexico, as she revealed that she “threw up four times” and “slept in it."
Kim took to Twitter shortly after the episode aired to reassure her fans that she was alright.
"It was tough rewatching having panic [attack] & having anxiety about traveling, but I’m so proud to also show u guys that I’m ok now," Kim tweeted.
