Reality star Kim Kardashian took to Twitter to clarify that she was not "attacked" outside a Los Angeles restaurant, despite reports stating that she was (video below).
On April 2, celebrity gossip and entertainment news website X17 published a story claiming that Kim had been "physically assaulted" in Beverly Hills as she left the restaurant Mr. Chow following the LA Fashion Awards.
In the accompanying video, Kim is seen walking down the sidewalk amid the paparazzi's flashing cameras. At one point, a man wearing a black and red backpack walks into her path, lightly bumping into her. The paparazzi start to shout. Then a voice is heard saying: "Leave him alone; he's just passing by." Another says, "He's blind."
The 36-year-old reality star seemed momentarily startled, and as she got into her car, her security guard held the man to make sure the situation didn't escalate.
Later that night, Kim set the record straight on Twitter.
"So [reality star Jonathan Cheban] just called me [and] asked if I was OK [and] read online I was attacked outside of Mr. Chow," she wrote, according to US Weekly. "Totally not true! Such weird rumors."
Shortly after posting that tweet, Kim gave her version of the incident, writing: "A random guy walks near me [and] almost bumped into me but he hit the parking meter. Not attacked me. Hope he's ok!"
In a recent episode of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians," Kim opened up about the robbery she experienced in Paris in October 2016. Speaking with her sisters, Kourtney and Khloe, she said she was falling asleep in her hotel room when she heard someone coming up the stairs.
"I'm calling to them, like, 'Hello? Hello? Hello?' and there's no answer," Kim said, according to US Weekly. "And then at that moment, when there wasn't an answer, my heart started to get really tense. You know, like, your stomach just kind of knots up and you're like, 'What's going on? What's going on?' I knew something wasn't quite right."
A group of men entered her room, tied her up and robbed her at gunpoint, making off with over $10 million in jewelry.
Kim believes the thieves had been stalking her from the moment she arrived in the city.
"What I think happened now, after thinking about it so much, is that there was probably a group of guys that were following us the entire trip," she said. "I was Snapchatting that I was home and that everyone was going out, so I think they knew Pascal was out with Kourtney and I was by myself."
Ten people have since been charged in connection with the robbery.
