North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un is reportedly recovering from surgery after breaking both of his ankles because of his increasing size.
According to reports, the North Korean leader has been out of commission recently while dealing with these health issues. Reports say that Kim Jong-un has gained a considerable amount of weight since becoming leader of the nation, and while touring military bases and factories in his country while wearing high-heeled Cuban boots, he reportedly suffered sprains on both his feet. He continued to walk, however, and wound up doing more damage that eventually lead to surgery.
“I heard that Kim Jong-un injured his right ankle in June after pushing ahead with on-site visits and ended up fracturing both ankles because he left the injury unattended,” said a source to The Chosun Ilbo.
Reports say that Kim Jong-un’s weight problem directly stems from his fondness for food and binge drinking, and while attempting to walk in the high-heeled boots that made him significantly taller. The leader reportedly developed gout because of his habits, and that could have been to blame for his injuries. Reports note that Kim Jong-un needed the surgery because he failed to seek treatment for his initial injury.
