Karma Comes After Mother Serving Prison Sentence For Killing 4-Year-Old Son

A 29-year-old woman has been found dead in her prison cell, two years into a life sentence for the murder of her 4-year-old son.

Magdalena Luczak and her partner, Mariusz Krezolek, were imprisoned in 2013 after being convicted of the murder of Daniel Pelka in 2012.

Luczak's death is believed to have been suicide, according to the Telegraph.

“Paramedics attended, and she was pronounced dead at the scene,” a Ministry of Justice spokesman said of Luczak, who was found dead Tuesday morning. “As with all deaths in custody, there will be an investigation by the independent Prisons and Probation Ombudsman.”

During Luczak’s murder trial, it emerged that Pelkar was severely abused before being locked in a small room with a urine-soaked mattress until he died.

A judge at Birmingham Crown Court described Luczak and Krezolek’s actions as a “campaign of cruelty,” Mirror reported.

Luczak and Krezolek tortured Daniel during his final months, denying him food and forcing him to carry out punishment exercises. The judge stated that “unimaginable acts of cruelty and brutality” had been committed, according to the Telegraph.

In one incident, Luczak held the child under water from a bath tap until he passed out. She then sent a text message to Krezolek saying, “I am having some quiet time.”

The trial heard that Luczak and Krezolek worked together to abuse the 4-year-old. Both sought to blame each other for the head injury that killed him.

When Daniel died, he weighed just 23 pounds.

Both Luczak and Krezolek were ordered to serve a minimum of 30 years before being allowed to apply for bail.

An attempt by the defendants to appeal the sentence was denied.

Lady Justice Hallett ruled that the trial judge was “fully entitled to treat this as one of the most serious offenses of murder to come before the courts.”
