Kai, Homeless Internet Celebrity, Wanted for Murder of Lawyer

Homeless man Kai, who became an Internet sensation in February for saving three people from a crazy driver with his hatchet, is now wanted for the murder of a lawyer in New Jersey.

Caleb "Kai" Lawrence McGillvary, 34, is wanted for his connection to Joseph Galfy Jr., who was found murdered on Tuesday.

When police found Galfy Jr., Kai wrote a graphic description of him being sexually assaulted by a man and said he had woken up in a strange house.

Prosecutors say Galfy met Kai at Times Square and took him home.

Now, Kai has cut his notorious long hair and is considered armed and dangerous.

Kai became famous after he saved three people from 54-year-old Jett Simmons McBride. He hit the man on the head with a hatchet and then gave a hilarious interview detailing the event.

In the interview, Kai had long, shaggy hair and a bandana. Since then, he has regularly updated his Facebook page about his adventures on the road. His Facebook username is Caleb Kai Lawrence Yodhehwawheh.

When police received a call from Galfy's relatives saying they had not heard from him in days, they went to his New Jersey home and found him dead, half-naked.

Galfy, 73, was beaten severely. An autopsy revealed that he died from a blunt force trauma to the head.

Police said Kai could be anywhere, as he frequently changes his residence. His Facebook lists Eureka, California as his home, but he was last seen in the area of Haddonfield, Camden County.

Galfy's neighbors said that he had been living alone ever since his long-time partner died five years ago. He served in the Army from 1965 to 1970 as a major and received his Juris Doctor from Seton Hall University.

"We have learned that in the past, he has demonstrated his ability to use the backend of a hatchet," prosecutors say. "It is very possible he might be carrying that. If people see him, we ask them to please contact local police and tell them."
