The text messages acclaimed comedian and actor Jim Carrey sent to his former girlfriend shortly before her suicide have been revealed.
On the third anniversary of her father’s death in September 2015, Cathriona White fatally overdosed on prescription drugs at her home. Her autopsy results were released on July 5, Radar Online reports.
According to a toxicology report, a variety of prescription pills were found in her system, including propranolol, oxycodone, oxymorphone and zolpidem.
When law enforcement officers found White’s body on her bed, three prescription bottles addressed to an "Arthur King" were reportedly discovered nearby. Medication that had been prescribed to White herself were also found at the scene, as she had reportedly been prescribed painkillers after undergoing a surgical procedure a few weeks prior to her death.
According to official documents, when officers discovered White’s phone, they found unanswered texts from Carrey asking if White "knew where his painkillers went from under his sink."
"It appears likely that the bottles for ‘Arthur King’ found on her bedside table were the prescriptions [Carrey] was referring to," the report stated, according to Radar Online.
White committed suicide a few days after she and Carrey had allegedly broken up, although sources close to the couple said they were merely taking a break, TMZ reports.
"I've spent 3 days now in disbelief that you're not here," she wrote in a suicide note to Carrey. "I can go on brokenhearted and try to put the pieces back. I could, I just don't have the will this time. I'm sorry you felt I wasn't there for you. I tried to give you my best part."
After discussing plans for her funeral, she concluded: "Please forgive me. I'm just not for this world.”
"I am shocked and saddened by the passing of my sweet Cathriona," Carrey released in statement, according to E! Online. "She was a truly kind and delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil, to whom loving and being loved was all that sparkled. My heart goes out to her family and friends and to everyone who loved and cared about her. We have all been hit with a lightning bolt."
White had also reportedly tried to overdose using pills in 2012.
