So let's get this straight -- Joran van der Sloot is locked up inside a jail in Peru for murder -- a killing to which he reportedly confessed. He is the prime suspect in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway. And he's wanted in the U.S. for allegedly trying to extort money from Holloway's family.
Yet, despite all of this, he gets conjugal visits behind bars, and has reportedly gotten his girlfriend pregnant (yes, those genes must be spread around).
David Lohr, who broke the story for The Huffington Post, says the killer's unidentified 23-year-old girlfriend has been visiting him "frequently" in jail, doing "chores" for him and bringing him candy -- and apparently, you know, having sex.
Van der Sloot apparently uses the candy to run a "lucrative" snack bar from his cell. Glad to see he's keeping busy.
It is believed the woman worked at the casino/hotel where van der Sloot allegedly strangled Stefany Flores last year.
Van der Sloot reportedly confessed to killing her, but claimed it was a "crime of passion" -- a common plea in Peru. If the judge buys it, van der Sloot could be sentenced to as little as 20 months in prison.
Flores's father said he has asked jail officials to investigate the conjugal visits.
