JonBenet Ramsey's Mom Makes Troubling Confession (Video)

Prior to her own death, JonBenet Ramsey's mother, Patty, confessed some unsettling details regarding the murder of the 6-year-old beauty queen during a filmed interrogation.

In 1998, Patsy Ramsey spoke about the mental anguish she endured prior to her daughter’s killing, as reported by Radar Online. While being interrogated by Tom Haney, a top investigator on the Boulder District Attorney team, she revealed that she was under psychiatric care in 1993 due to an emotional breakdown.

Despite admitting the problems she had with her mental health, she maintained that she "didn’t have a thing to do" with JonBenet’s murder.

More recently, we have gotten more insight into who could have taken JonBenet's life all those years ago. In an interview on NBC's "TODAY" show, investigator Ollie Gray stated that a local resident named Michael Helgoth may have played a substantial role in JonBenet’s killing. Gray also said a taped confession may possibly exist.

"There was a tape recording made by Helgoth," said John Kenady, who worked for Helgoth, according to the Daily Mail. "And in it, he said he killed JonBenet."

“Kenady provided very relevant information that should have been a priority lead,” said Gray. “But I got the distinct feeling that the Boulder police had absolutely no interest in anything that took away from the theory that John and Patsy Ramsey killed their daughter.”

Gray felt Helgoth may have been murdered by an accomplice in order to prevent him from publicly speaking out about the crime.

"Based on what we know now, I believe Helgoth and his accomplices committed the crime," Gray said. "There's no doubt about it."

Kenady said Helgoth made suspicious comments a month before JonBenet’s murder.

"Helgoth had told me that he and a partner were going to make a great deal and they each will bring in around $50,000 or $60,000," Kenady recalled. "I will never forget we were walking toward his house and he said, ‘I wonder what it would be like to crack a human skull.’ […] I thought it was a very odd thing to say."

On Feb. 13, 1997, then-District Attorney Alex Hunter spoke to the murderer during a press conference.

"The list of suspects narrows," he said. "Soon there will be no one on the list but you."

Helgoth was found dead two days later.

"The gun was found on Helgoth's right side, but the bullet hole goes from left to right," Kenady explained. "He was murdered to keep his mouth shut."

Gray believes JonBenet’s killer will eventually be caught, and that "somebody out there knows what has gone on."

Now that we have more insight into the confessions made by Patty Ramsey in 1998 about her mental health before her daughter's death, there only seem to be more questions than answers.
