Java Bowling Shot In Chest After Trying To Stop Drunk Friend From Driving

A Cleveland man claims that his friend shot him in the chest when he tried to prevent him from driving drunk on Saturday night. The two men began fighting when Java Bowling III, 43 tried to take 40-year-old Scott A. Campbell’s keys away so that he couldn’t drive. Bowling was then allegedly shot in the chest by Campbell.

Campbell fled from the scene, but was later arrested with assistance from the police Aviation Unit. He was still in custody awaiting charges as of Sunday night.

Officers recovered a weapon from the backyard of the residence where Campbell was captured.

Bowling is recovering at MetroHealth Medical Center, Raw Story reported.
