Lena Dunham Says Donald Trump Made Her Lose Weight

Actress Lena Dunham revealed the reason behind her recent weight loss.

Speaking to radio show host Howard Stern on Feb. 6, Dunham said it was the election of President Donald Trump that did the trick, Entertainment Weekly reported.

"Donald Trump became president and I stopped being able to eat food," Dunham told Stern, reports Entertainment Weekly. "Everyone’s been asking like, 'What have you been doing?' and I'm like 'Try soul-crushing pain and devastation and hopelessness and you too will lose weight.'"

The animosity between Dunham and Trump is not new. During the campaign, the 30-year-old producer and director famously remarked that she would move to Canada if Trump became president.

Trump's opinion of Dunham seems to be no better.

"He said I was a B-list actor with no mojo," Dunham said.

She was also asked if it was a mistake for Trump to pay so much attention to celebrities.

"Here's the funny thing. Of course it's a mistake, but we're talking about him like he's a person who is operating in a sane way, we're talking about him like a person who doesn't have a personality disorder," she said.

Dunham's comments came shortly after an interview with The Guardian in which she spoke out about criticism directed at her and her show "Girls."

"No one likes being criticized. It sucks," Dunham said. "I'm glad for the dialogue the show created around issues of representation and issues of feminism, but no one likes being constantly called out. Even if you don’t think it’s affecting you -- like I really don’t care if a guy in the Midwest calls me fat, or a Republican tells me what an idiot I am -- you can’t have that much negative energy directed at you without there being some cost to your emotional and personal life."

She went on to point out that the challenges facing ordinary people were much bigger.

"I’m someone with a lot of resources around me," Dunham noted. "I have a yoga teacher and a therapist. I’m taking great care of myself and it hurts even me, so what does it do to a teenager in Florida when her entire class turns against her on Twitter or passes photos of her around online? I don’t really care what happens to celebrities on the internet; I care what happens to people on the internet."
