A Florida couple got an unpleasant surprise in the nachos they ordered from a Taco Bell.
Kailynn Roland told Fox 13 (video below) that Taco Bell was her favorite food. She and her boyfriend, Joseph Richardson, stopped by a local Taco Bell in Lake Wales for a late night snack Monday.
"We came through Taco Bell and got some nachos," Richardson said.
But when Roland reached the bottom of her triple-layer entree, she found a full length, acrylic French-tip fingernail in the beans.
“It's gross. I puked,” Kailynn said.
The couple said employees had gotten their order wrong the first time. When they called to complain about the nail in their nachos, they said the manager gave them the wrong number to Taco Bell’s corporate office.
“I was a manager at a McDonald's for four years,” Richardson told the news station. “If we had anything like this happen -- right then, right there, when they called back in -- we would have shut service down and investigated it.”
The couple was offered $40 in gift cards by the company. Richardson said they’re not taking it.
“Probably never again, and if I do eat at a Taco Bell, it will not be at this location,” he said.
“One of the things I'd really like is an apology from the Taco Bell corporation," he added.
Taco Bell’s corporate office told the news station that they are investigating the matter and that they will retrain employees if necessary. They added that the couple did in fact accept the $40 in gift cards. Richardson denies that claim and said he remains unsatisfied with Taco Bell’s response.
