Iowa Cops Shoot Into Car Of Teens After Misreading License Plate (Video)

A newly released police dash camera video (below) shows officers in Fairfield, Iowa, chasing a teen driver and his passenger off a road and firing at them on June 2.

In the video, 19-year-old Dakota Murray pulls off on a side road and then backs into a ditch. Officer Kathy Blumhagen and Sgt. David Wall approach the vehicle screaming and begin firing rounds, notes The Free Thought Project.

Murray reportedly neglected to stop when police were in pursuit (based on a misread license plate) as he and his passenger were scared because they had some marijuana seeds.

Wall drops the F-bomb during the shooting, as does Blumhagen as she takes a 16-year-old female passenger to a cruiser.

Murray was sentenced in July for eluding police and got two years in prison. He will be extradited to Missouri in the future for an alleged probation violation, according to

The incident was investigated by the Fairfield Police Department, Jefferson County Attorney, Van Buren County Attorney and the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation, but none of the investigations found any problem with the actions of the officers -- who were back on the job June 10.
