Illinois State Trooper Accused of Publicly Strip Searching Driver (Video)

Illinois State Trooper Cory Alberson is accused of publicly strip searching a male driver in East St. Louis.

Alberson was charged on Tuesday with felony aggravated battery.

He allegedly pulled down Anthony Campbell's pants, without consent, during a traffic stop on Jan. 21, 2013, notes KMOV (video below).

According to court papers, Alberson allegedly "visually examined, with a flashlight, the buttocks of Anthony Campbell while holding his pants down."

Alberson was relieved of duty, with pay, during an internal investigation and the court case.

“The Illinois State Police take this matter seriously and will not tolerate misconduct on any level,” said Illinois State Police Director Hiram Grau in a  statement.

Alberson was released from jail after posting a $20,000 bail.

"Corey Alberson has pleaded not guilty to these charges and will persist in that plea of not guilty," his attorney John O'Gara told "We will fight this matter in court."

Alberson faces two to five years in prison if convicted.
