An Illinois police officer was charged with invasion of privacy for allegedly recording men and boys as they used the bathroom at a gas station and posted the videos online.
Chesterfield police officer David Cerna, 33, is also suspected of placing Craigslist ads soliciting for sex, police said Friday. Cerna told authorities that 45 to 60 men have visited his Wentzville home in the last year and half in order to have oral sex through a “glory hole." He also admitted to recording men who used the glory hole without their knowledge and posting the videos online, police said. KMOV reported that some of the men believed they were responding to an ad from a woman.
Videos of men and boys using the bathroom appeared on pornographic websites and a Fox 2 Now investigation led them to a Mobile On The Run gas station in Chesterfield. Fox 2 Now couldn’t find any cameras in the bathroom so they took their concerns to Chesterfield police.
“The Chesterfield Police Department has arrested one of our own officers, working from a tip from an investigative reporter Chris Hayes from Fox 2 News,” Police Chief Ray Johnson said Friday.
The St. Charles County Cyber Crime Unit and Chesterfield Police seized computers from Cerna’s home. That’s when they learned the suspect is a police officer.
Cerna has been on the force for six years, KMOV reported.
