A man from Kyle, Texas, was arrested March 24 on a charge of aggravated sexual assault after having sex with a 12-year-old girl.
Jose Najarro, 52, assaulted the victim at his home Nov. 1, 2015, according to KXAN.
An affidavit states that Najarro asked the girl to come to his house to help repair his TV.
When the girl arrived, Najarro sat next to her and tried to kiss her. He asked her to touch him but she refused.
Najarro then took her clothes off and sexually assaulted her, according to the testimony she provided to police.
Several months later, the girl took a pregnancy test at a clinic. Officials confirm she is between four and five months pregnant.
The girl told police Najarro was the only person she had sex with, and that it only happened once. She refused to go to his house again when he asked her to do so.
On top of the aggravated assault charge, Najarro is being held on an immigration detainer. This means that immigration officials have reason to believe he is in the country illegally or they may have actually started deportation proceedings against him, Daily Mail reported.
Najarro’s arrest came just days after the conclusion of a sexual assault case involving another Texas man.
David Wilson, a registered sex offender, received a life sentence March 17 from a Houston court for sexually assaulting two girls, said KTRK.
Wilson had sex with a 14-year-old girl repeatedly over the course of two years, resulting in her becoming pregnant. He also assaulted a 23-month-old toddler.
Wilson infected both with HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases.
The assaults only came to light when the 23-month-old girl was brought to a doctor last November and tested positive for HIV.
His assault on the toddler led to a charge of super-aggravated sexual assault due to the victim’s young age.
