Husband Allegedly Stabs Wife To Death In View Of Their Daughter

The wife of an Arizona man stood up to him after he slapped one of their seven children for playing video games, and that is when he turned his attention to her.

John Leo Davis Jr., 37, of Goodyear, Arizona, allegedly stabbed his wife, Michele Davis, 35, thirteen times in the back at their home. Seven of their children—aged between three and 14—were at home.

Their 14-year-old daughter reportedly witnessed the stabbing of her mother and called 911, reports The Daily Mail.

A crying Davis also called 911, saying he had lost his mind and stabbed his wife.

The stabbing reportedly took place after Davis got angry and slapped one of their children who was playing video games and the child told Michele what had happened. She confronted Davis and an argument ensued. Davis allegedly chased Michelle while holding a knife from the kitchen to the front door.

The chase ended in Davis allegedly stabbing Michele to death. Her body was found in a pool of blood at the front door.

Their 14-year-old daughter said Davis cleaned the knife in the kitchen following the stabbing, reports AZ Central.

Michele was dead before she arrived at a local hospital.

Davis was arrested and charged with first-degree murder and is being held on a $2 million bond in Maricopa County jail. At the time of his court appearance, he did not have a lawyer.

Davis has a history of domestic violence dating back to the 1990s, according to court records. He was arrested in 2008 in Utah on suspicion of assault against Michele and child abuse. In 2006 and twice in the 1990s, he was arrested on suspicion of battery against a spouse.

The children were immediately removed from the home and are being cared for by relatives. Three of the seven children belong to Davis and Michele, while two of the children are Michele’s, and two others belong to Davis.

Davis also has a 16-year-old child who was not home at the time of the murder.

A GoFundMe account has been created to assist with Michele’s funeral expenses and the care of the children.
