Actress Ashley Jensen has spoken out after the devastating loss of her husband.
Actor Terence Beesley was found collapsed at his home in late November, the Daily Mail reported. His death wasn't made public until mid December.
An ambulance reportedly arrived at the actor's home within 10 minutes after a phone call was made to emergency services, but Beesley could not be revived. He was 60 years old.
Beesley and Jensen met in 1999 while working in the London theater production "King Lear." They got married in 2007 while Jensen was working on the hit comedy drama television series "Ugly Betty" in the U.S.
Jensen's spokesperson said the Scottish actress was crushed by her husband's sudden death.
"Ashley is devastated and respectfully asks for privacy for her, her young child and the family at this extremely sad and difficult time," the statement read.
It is unknown at this time if Beesley was suffering from poor health. An inquest is expected to be completed in the new year.
Jensen is reportedly at home comforting their 8-year-old son, Francis.
Beesley's career launched in the 1980s after a series of television appearances and roles both in film and on stage. The London native was recently featured in the 2016 film "London Has Fallen."
"It is with great sadness that I can confirm that Terence passed away at the end of November," Beesley's representative said in a statement.
"Nobody saw this coming. Terence and Ashley's friends and family are all devastated," another source told The Sun. "This is a heart-breaking time for them."
Beesley and Jensen kept their wedding very intimate, inviting only their minister and their dog, Barney, who acted as ring-bearer. When she became pregnant, Jensen said they opted to leave the gender of the baby a surprise.
"We thought there are so few surprises left in the world," Jensen said at the time, according to The Sun. "We wanted to be surprised, so we don’t have the room painted pink or blue."
News of Beesley's death sent shock waves throughout social media.
"Shocked at the news of actor Terence Beesley passing away suddenly, my thoughts are with his wife Ashley Jensen and his son and his family and friends," wrote one Twitter user.
"RIP #terencebeesley shocked and so sad," wrote another. "Such a lovely man. Absolute gent. Gutted."
"Theres been (a lot) of celeb deaths this year, with recent #SHINee #JONGHYUN and #TerenceBeesley my prayers go to the family and friends," another user added.
